Bidding process opens to host AFI’s flagship Global Policy Forum
The world’s largest annual financial inclusion policy forum will celebrate its 8th meeting in Fiji this September 2016. The AFI Global Policy Forum, or GPF, has quickly established itself as the premier event for senior financial policymakers and regulators to share ideas, explore innovations and highlight financial inclusion success stories from across the globe. Each year the event has been held in a different member country providing a unique insight into new regions and new challenges for policymakers.
With over 100 AFI members, the number of institutions requesting an opportunity to host this flagship event has never been higher. As a result, beginning this year AFI will be opening a standard bidding and application process for any member who is interesting in becoming GPF host.
As a GPF host, AFI members are able to position their country and institution in the global arena and demonstrate commitment as a financial inclusion leader, while increasing awareness and commitment for national financial inclusion initiatives. Hosts also gain exposure within the AFI Network and receive a unique opportunity to help shape the financial inclusion agenda. While the GPF is underway, a host county becomes the international capital of financial inclusion.
For more information on becoming a GPF host, please refer to the attached document on ‘Hosting Requirements’.
AFI member institution’s expressing their interested in hosting GPF 2017 should fill the attached “GPF Hosting Application Form” and return it to gpf@afi-global.org by 15 August 2016.
