AFI welcomes BOT Governor Benno Ndulu as new board chair
AFI welcomes Bank of Tanzania (BOT) Governor Benno Ndulu as Chair of the new AFI Board. The appointment was officially made on 15 December 2015, following the departure of Dr. Daniel Schydlowsky, from SBS Peru.
Governor Ndulu had previously served as Vice Chair of the AFI Steering Committee, the governing body which has been transformed into the AFI Board as a part of the organization’s independence process. As Governor of the Bank of Tanzania, he has had a long history with AFI and represents one of the network’s most active and innovative institutions.
AFI Executive Director, Alfred Hannig, said: “I wish to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Schydlowsky for his inspiring leadership of AFI and also to welcome Governor Ndulu, who is no stranger to AFI leadership.”
Governor Ndulu takes up the position of Chair during a historical moment for the AFI network, with financial inclusion firmly on the top of the agenda of the international community, and AFI ready to become a fully member-owned independent organization.
