2014 GPF AFI Member Country Policy Profiles
This presentation was prepared for AFI’s Global Policy Forum in September 2014. It contains preliminary results of a still ongoing data collection, which will be concluded by the end of 2014. At the time of the GPF the data cleaning process had not been completed and AFI received additional responses after the event. That’s why the final data evaluation may yield different results.

The final collected data is intended to be published in a centralized repository of knowledge on financial inclusion policies for AFI member institutions, the AFI Member Country Policy Profiles. These profiles will contain information on the legal and regulatory status of financial inclusion in each country in the AFI network. They will comprise approximately 50 key financial inclusion policy indicators as well as primary legal sources in five financial inclusion policy areas, namely financial inclusion data, digital financial services, financial integrity, consumer protection and market conduct, and national financial inclusion strategies. The repository will not only allow regulators and policymakers to examine regulatory frameworks of their peers, but it will also allow AFI to identify thematic, regional and global trends on financial inclusion policies, and to track countries’ policy development over time. AFI has partnered with the Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice to engage Law Firms in the AFI member jurisdictions to provide responses and legal analysis for the data collection.
