For policymakers, choosing the right format for financial education projects can be a challenge.
Classroom workshops are one of the most practical methods but doubts have been raised recently about how effective they are. A randomized control trial was conducted to assess the effectiveness of financial education classroom workshops in rural areas of Armenia, and the short-term results of that assessment are presented in this case study.
Highlights of the case study include:
- How classroom workshops improve short-term financial resilience, trust and preference for formal savings
- Why financial education workshops are effective across age groups, and income and education levels
