Though more than two-thirds (64%) of the Swazi adults are formally served, a significant number are excluded or face a large number of access barriers notably low affordability, and sometimes onerous documentation requirements.
The development of a National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS) is a continuation of efforts by the Government of the Kingdom of Swaziland to afford appropriate and quality financial services and products accessible to all categories of the population as well as the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). It is intended to remove constraints preventing some strata of the population from having access to and use of these services and products.
