Bank of Namibia joined AFI in June 2009 and is a principal member. It is active in five working groups, and has a focus on DFS and FID. In 2018, the central bank was ranked “highly active”. During that time, it attended a joint learning program on DIS in Ghana as well as public-private dialogue on DFS in Jordan and Côte d’Ivoire and FID in Mexico.
In 2018, the central bank was rated “most engaged”, having attended public-private dialogue training in Guinea, Mexico, Jordan and Côte d’Ivoire, as well as joint learning programs for Tanzania and Malaysia. It received an AFI policy grant to establish a national coordination structure and implement an NFIS.
