Banque Centrale de Tunisie joins the AFI network as its newest member
The Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) is delighted to welcome its newest member, Banque Centrale de Tunisie to the network.
Founded in 1958, Banque Centrale de Tunisie has joined AFI as a principle member. The AFI network is now comprised of 106 member institutions, representing 91 countries worldwide.
Financial inclusion is an important objective of the Central Bank, with an overarching goal of providing affordable, responsible and sustainable access to regulated financial services for the population.
Banque Centrale de Tunisie is part of the Financial Inclusion Initiative for the Arab Region (FIARI), launched in September 2017 by the Arab Monetary Fund, GIZ and AFI in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, during the AFI Global Policy Forum (GPF). The objective of FIARI is to promote inclusive economic growth through innovative financial inclusion policies by supporting efforts to expand access to the formal financial system for the under-served and financially non-included populations.
